We now know when and where gamers will be able to try out the Switch before it releases.
As previously announced, Nintendo will hold a tour where gamers can try out their new console before it releases. Now, Nintendo has announced a list of the tour stops (via GameSpot). For the first two days of each tour stop, people who attend must be invited by Nintendo. On the Sunday of every weekend, anyone can show up to try out the Switch. According to Nintendo, however, space will be limited, and people will only be allowed in on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who attend will have the opportunity to play “select” launch titles. Nintendo has teased that the stops will represent “the different ways Nintendo Switch can be played.”
Below is the cities and dates for the upcoming tour:
- New York – January 13th-15th
- Toronto – January 27th-29th
- Washington, D.C. – February 10th-12th
- Chicago – February 17th-19th
- San Francisco – February 24th-26th
- Los Angeles – March 3rd-5th
For those who cannot attend the tour stops, the Switch will also be at PAX South (January 27th-29th), PAX East (March 10th-12th), and SXSW (March 16th-18th).
The Nintendo Switch is expected to release in March of 2017. This week it was announced that Nintendo will hold a presentation for the upcoming console on January 12th.
