At PlayStation Experience, Sony’s PlayStation fan appreciation event, a gameplay trailer was shown for the upcoming Crash Bandicoot remake.
The first three Crash games will be put in one package which will be titled Crash Bandicoot: N’Sane Trilogy. The trailer showed off gameplay from the Crash Bandicoot remake, and aside from the visuals it is exactly how fans remember it. Throughout the trailer Crash can be seen spinning and smashing crates, grabbing as much wumpa fruit as he can, and of course, running toward the camera.
While the aim is to have them play exactly like the original PlayStation games, they certainly look like PS4 games. Dan Tanguay, game director at Vicarious Visions, posted on the PlayStation Blog saying that levels, characters, and cinematics have been completely rebuilt, following the designs and geometry from the original games.
In addition, there are new features being added to the games. There is now a revamped checkpoint and save system (including both auto-saves and manual saves), a unified menu system across all three games, as well as time trials in all three games. More new features may be added, but developer Vicarious Visions is not ready to reveal any more as of now.
Crash Bandicoot: N’Sane Trilogy is scheduled to release in 2017 on the PlayStation 4.
