Ubisoft’s promise that their premium DLC will be given free to all players now extends to the medieval sword ’em up For Honor. All DLC maps and game modes will come with no additional charge for users.

For Honor will launch with 12 maps initially, but there is plenty of scope for additional content to be added. Speaking at a presentation for the game, attended by EuroGamer, Game Director Damien Kieken said, “Everything that’s matchmade [including] new modes and new maps, will be given for free to the players.”

The game does come with an in-game currency known as Steel, but this apparently is only to provide a quicker means of obtaining certain premium heroes and weapons. Kieken states, “Everything is unlockable just by playing the game.”

October saw the closed Alpha of For Honor. The developers have had a mountain of feedback from the community to work on, helping them to refine the action. Of the three game modes active during the Alpha phase, Dominion, a 4v4 battle, proved to be the most popular, and Samurai warrior Orochi was the most selected hero.

The next stage of development, a closed Beta, will begin in January 2017, allowing Ubisoft to have the final problems ironed out before the release on February 14th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
