Hideo Kojima speaks out on using the Decime Engine for Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima has spoken out on using Guerrilla Games' Decime Engine for Death Stranding.Over a series of Tweets, Kojima spoke about why he chose to use the Decime Engine for Death Stranding, likening the decision to the Cold War space race. "The space development competition has been stagnated after the Cold War," Kojima states. "Due to the steep rise in price of space development cost, the investment for the earth has been strengthened and they gave up on the space shuttle program. Meanwhile I who wants to proceed myself to the moon, met the guerrilla whose plan was to go to the Mars. We decided to make the rocket by reforming their engine. And by doing so it enables us to go to the Mars but even to the Jupiter."

It was announced earlier this month at the PlayStation Experience that Death Stranding would be using the Decime Engine, the same engine that Guerrilla Games is using for Horizon Zero Dawn.
A new trailer for Death Stranding was released at this year’s Game Awards. The trailer featured Guillermo Del Toro, and revealed Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen. Soon after the trailer was released, Kojima took to Twitter, telling fans that there are various hints hidden within the trailer.
Death Stranding is in development for the PlayStation 4. The title currently in its early stages. Kojima has hinted at a 2018 release.
