Blizzard has released the patch notes for Overwatch’s latest update, and have announced that the Winter Wonderland event is now live.
A new patch for Overwatch is now live on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The highlight of the patch is the Winter Wonderland event, which is now live. During the event, Loot Boxes will wrapped and tied with a bow, and will feature over 100 new cosmetic items. Hanamura and King’s Row will both be decorated for the holidays.
The Winter Wonderland event also features a brand new brawl: Mei’s Snowball Offensive. Mei’s Snowball Offensive is a single-elimination 6v6 mode featuring the climatologist. In this brawl, Mei’s Endothermic Blaster no longer unleashes a stream of frost or icicles, but instead fires a single, super-powered snowball. While enemies will go down in one hit, weapons can only be reloaded by finding a snow pile. When Mei’s Ultimate is activated, her blaster becomes a semi-automatic snowball launcher, allowing players to fire continuously at their enemies.
The latest Overwatch patch also included a number of updates. A new “Boop” unlockable voice line for Sombra has been added. Players will now be able to select the 1v1 Mystery Duel and 3v3 Elimination game modes from the Custom Game menu. Also added was the “Stay as Team” feature, which will allow players to remain grouped with their teammates after the match has ended. The patch will also made some hero balances, as well as a number of bug fixes. You can read the patch notes here.
Overwatch is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The Winter Wonderland event will run through January 2nd.
