It seems the physical sales of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare were down by roughly half when compared to Black Ops III.
According to NPD sell-through data (via CNBC), Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare physical sales had dropped 50 percent when compared to Black Ops III. Cowen analyst Doug Creutz stated that Infinite Warfare “came in 17 percent shy of our expectations, down close to 50 percent y/y.” Another Wall Street source also stated that Call of Duty unit sales were down 51 percent year-over-year.
The November Call of Duty sales in the U.K. saw a similar drop. Call of Duty sales saw a 48 percent year-over-year drop during the first week.
Last month, hidden weapons were found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. On Reddit, user /u/Semyel posted extensive notes on the discovery. He states that a friend of his was looking through the game’s files on the PC versions of the title when he came across mentions of a melee shovel and other hidden weapons. Semyel mentions that he was able to get a few of the weapons using a cheat engine, and, thanks to the help of other players, was eventually able to get the melee shovel to appear as well.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
