Revealed at PlayStation Experience 2016, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard has received a new trailer, called Resident Evil 7 biohazard TAPE-3, offering up a bit more story and connection to the established universe, along with the news that the final demo update drops tonight, and it is “massive”.
The new trailer has Ethan Winters, the protagonist of the new game, talking about how he thinks his wife Mia isn’t actually dead, as he looks at a newspaper talking about ghost sightings. It implies that maybe the family from the demo has taken and “adopted” her, as you can hear her repeatedly pleading “Don’t- Don’t hurt him!” after a creepy child says “Mommy, kill him?”.
We also get clips of someone succumbing to a virus that looks similar to those of earlier games, but there still isn’t a lot of information to let fans know where the game takes place in the timeline. There was also a small in-trailer announcement of a “Banned Footage” DLC to come out on PS4.
The update is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation VR this time around, for those who would want such a scary game that close to their face, with the full Resident Evil 7 set to release January 27th of next year.
