Firebrand entertainment’s upcoming game, Abandon Ship, will get its first public demonstration at this year’s PC Gamer Weekender event. PC Gamer states that during this convention, the developer plans to show off some of the game’s core gameplay mechanics and other features such as ship control and the effect that weather can have on combat.
Abandon Ship focuses on retelling of the “Age of Sailing” in a new and exciting fantasy world in which players have full control over their ship as they battle across the game’s vast and unforgiving sea. The game’s official website gives gamers more details about the game, “Abandon Ship is a PC game where you take command of a ship and her crew, exploring a diverse, procedurally generated world, taking on quests and dealing with random events. Frequently, you will end up engaging other ships in combat, the player having to employ their best tactics in order to out-manoeuvre and out-gun the enemy.”
Firebrand has also released a Steam page that gives gamers more information about the game as well as the option to add it to their wishlist, allowing them to stay up to date on the game as its release date draws closer.
The PC Gamer Weekender event brings many aspects of the PC gaming community together for one weekend to showcase some of the industry’s upcoming games and technology. Attendees will have access to panels, tournaments, and other engaging activities.
The event is scheduled to take place on February 18th through the 19th in London, England. Abandon Ship is set to release sometime this year.
