Entitled They Shall Not Pass, the expansion includes a number of additions. Four new maps will be released: Verdun Heights, Fort Vaux, Soissons, and Rupture. The expansion will include the French Army, who don the faction’s blue uniform. There will also be 2 new French vehicles: the Char 2C tank and the Assault Tank Gun. There will also be a new Stationary Weapon: the Siege Howitzer. An new Elite Class is being introduced as well: the Trench Raider, who wields the Raider Club and an arsenal of grenades.
They Shall Not Pass will also introduce a new game mode: Frontlines. Frontlines is a mix of Conquest and Rush, with players fighting for chained control points. Both teams will fight for one flag at a time, and will move on to the next when the objective is captured. When one side captures the enemy’s control point, the game will turn into a Rush-style section where telegraph posts need to be attacked or defended.
Battlefield 1 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. No release date for They Shall Not Pass has been given. Those who have the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass will be able to play the expansion before everyone else.
