Gamers can now sign up to beta test NetherReam Studios’ upcoming game Injustice 2.
Yesterday, creative director at NetherRealm Studios Ed Boon posted a semi-cryptic post on Twitter:
Don't know why, but I can't help feeling like there is something missing today…. pic.twitter.com/J25PE23lhj
— Ed Boon (@noobde) January 19, 2017
Twitter users quickly determined that the tweet was the first eight letters of the Greek alphabet, or at least it would have been if the second letter, “beta,” wasn’t missing. The beta sign-up page for Injustice 2 was made available to the public shortly after Boon posted his tweet. The beta test applies to people with an Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
Injustice 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Injustice: Gods Among Us. It will retain the first game’s combat system and story mode but will also boast several new features. Injustice 2 will include a much larger roster with more iconic DC characters, such as Blue Beetle, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus (accompanied by his fellow Red Lantern member Dex-Starr, the universe’s angriest Russian Blue cat), and the pre-order exclusive Darkseid. Furthermore, NetherRealm Studios promises that the game will include an armor and gear system that will affect how characters look and fight.
Injustice 2 is scheduled to release on May 16th for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At this time, we do not know if or when the game will have a PC port.
