Producer Fernando Melo recently answered a question on Twitter regarding the possibility of crossplay functionality in Mass Effect: Andromeda’s multiplayer. Melo regretted that multiplayer matches cannot be cross platform:
@tibermoon @Tinkham11 crossplay not in the current plans, sorry. and mp is peer to peer (same as me3)

Melo also stated that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not have dedicated servers and that multiplayer will be strictly peer to peer. Sadly, this news was not well-received. Several people have already criticized BioWare’s decision to forego servers, calling the peer to peer system, “unsecure and exploitable by hackers.”
Gamers have received a lot of news regarding Mass Effect: Andromeda as of late. Lead Designer Ian S. Frazier has tweeted that gamers will be able to earn single player rewards in multiplayer mode and that a multiplayer test could possibly start before the end of January. BioWare also recently released a trailer that highlights many of the characters, including allies and enemies, that players will meet in the game. Gamers should expect even more news in coming months, including the PC system requirements.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled to launch on March 21st for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more on the upcoming title, keep checking back here on Gamespresso.
