In the trailer, we see Mario in several real world environments, ranging from big cities to huge forests. Also, we see what appears to be more traditional looking people. Mario is human, sure, but he doesn’t really look it like when compared to a real person. The people shown in the trailer are much more realistically proportioned.

Super Mario Odyssey will be a sandbox style game in the style of previous entries in the series, such as Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64.

While this was the official reveal of the game, it was actually first shown in the Switch reveal trailer in October 2016.

Super Mario Odyssey currently has a release window of holiday 2017.
