QuakeCon, “North America’s largest LAN party” will be returning for a 22nd time, from August 24–27 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center.
The event is a mix between LAN party, normal party, and serious convention. “More than 10,000 gamers attended last year’s festivities, participating in the LAN party and partaking in a wide range of activities, panels, tournaments, workshops and exhibits from leading tech companies showcasing the newest hardware and gaming accessories.” says Bethesda.
It’s also a great time for Bethesda to show off new games to fans as they have in the past, like DOOM, Dishonored 2, and Quake Champions.
This year, QuakeCon will be free for all attendees and open to the public, but you still must register on the website when it becomes available. This is in part thanks to returning volunteers, and sponsorships and support from Bethesda Softworks and id Software. If you’re in the area, you don’t have an excuse anymore to not get involved in the biggest LAN party you might ever get a chance to attend.
The resort is offering a special room price for QuakeCon visitors, only $185 a night if you call and mention the event, or book online through a special page.
