Call of Duty players looking to see how they stack up against the competition can now start signing up for the Cineplex WorldGaming Canadian Championship series. Hosted by WorldGaming and Cineplex Cinemas, the event will see some of the best teams from all across Canada compete in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for a chance at a prize pool totaling over $65,000, as well as the chance to represent the country at the CWL Anaheim Open. This event, which is also presented by PlayStation, will give teams a chance to earn CWL Pro points which help qualify teams for the CWL championship.
Teams can qualify for the tournament by competing in one of ten online Call of Duty qualifiers hosted by WorldGaming, as well as one of twenty five local/regional events that will be hosted at local Cineplex Theaters throughout the country. From these events, 64 teams will then compete in online playoff matches. And from there, the top eight teams will receive an all expense paid trip to Toronto for the National Finals at the Scotiabank Theatre on March 26th.
Cineplex and WorldGaming have hosted a variety of tournaments and other events throughout Canada, while also awarding over $200,000 worth of prizes along the way. Along with Call of Duty, they have held events for Street Fighter V and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
