Detailed on the official website for the title, Funcom reveals some of the additions they are already working to include as part of the Early Access, such as the lethal Trebuchet and the ability to dye your garments into your chosen colors. The developers will be revealing exclusive first glimpses of new content and features at the Game Developers Conference, as well as allowing fans the chance to play the title for themselves and answering questions about their project on the showfloor, plus giving away printed comics that accompany the game.
There is also now the chance to mod your experience in Conan Exiles, with the release of the Dev Kit. This allows players to change things from small quality of life improvements, right up to creating new landscapes and monsters. Your creations can be uploaded onto the Steam Workshop for everyone to scrutinize and experience for themselves. Players wanting to mod their world are directed to visit UnrealEngine.com and download the Unreal Launcher to be able to do so.
The launch of the Early Access onto Steam has not been without teething problems. Funcom has admitted that the high demand for the game meant that the official servers had to be taken temporarily offline, due to issues with the original provider. Speaking in Oslo this week, the CEO of Funcom, Rui Casais stated, “We are deeply humbled and very grateful for the initial success of Conan Exiles.” He continued by saying, “We will do whatever it takes to make sure Conan Exiles turns into a fully-fledged game that has something to offer new and old fans of both Conan and survival games.”
