It seems that Destiny 2 is still on track to release in 2017.
In a slideshow that was part of an earnings call, Activision stated that they are still expecting Destiny 2 to release sometime this year. The report states: “Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.” Unfortunately, no other details, such as when we can expect the sequel to release, were given.
It seems that there will be no Valentines celebration in Destiny this year. In a blog post, Bungie stated: “We enjoyed adding some gunfire to your date night, but we have other plans. Instead, we’re dedicating our efforts to delivering different things for you to play.” Last year, the developer celebrated the holiday with a 2v2 game mode. In this mode, if a player’s partner fell, they would receive a buff that gave them the chance to turn the tides of battle. Even though Bungie is skipping Valentines Day this year, it looks like they are working on the next content drop. The developer has stated that they will talk about the next patch when we are closer to release.
Destiny is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
