This year sees the release of the highly anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda from BioWare. Along with the release of the second cinematic trailer last week, BioWare has detailed the crew that will be joining Ryder as you explore the Andromeda Galaxy.
The trailer, released on the games official web site through the Andromeda Initiative briefings, is narrated by a human crew member, Cora. Information about the cast of characters in the title is also revealed on the official web site. It tells us a little more about the diverse mix of crew that will be part of our journey to Habitat 7.
“Two of your starting squad mates will be Liam and Cora, who both signed up to be part of the Pathfinder team on the Ark Hyperion. Liam has already made a name for himself in the Milky Way as a security specialist, with expertise in crisis response, while Cora has had the unique experience of training with the asari matriarchs,” BioWare explains.
“Unlike Liam and Cora, your other squad mates, like Vetra, Peebee, and Drack, have traveled to Andromeda long before your arrival. Vetra, who is already onboard the Nexus, has found that family ties are more important than venturing deeper into the galaxy. Neither Peebee nor Drack were part of the initial Pathfinder team, and while you’ll find Peebee to be a free spirit with a penchant for alien civilizations, you’ll come to know Drack as an aged and grizzled veteran, even by krogan standards.”
Mass Effeect: Andromeda is the follow up to the 2012 game Mass Effect 3. Emphasizing exploration, the open-world environments will be larger and more dense than in previous games. The game is set to continue the theme of the third-person shooter we have come to expect, but looks to take the formula even further with the inclusion of new skill sets that are fully determined by the player, as well as character customization.
The crew of the Pathfinder team, which consists of humans and aliens alike, have undertaken their long journey to the Andromeda Galaxy, but it appears that they still have their biggest danger yet to face.
Mass Effect: Andromeda releases across all major platforms from March 21st. Check back to Gamespresso for future announcements about the game.
