Mass Effect: Andromeda’s system requirements aren’t out of this world
Mass Effect might take place in a future where computers are powerful enough to run sentient artificial intelligence programs, but you will not need one of those computers to play Mass Effect: Andromeda. EA has just updated the game's Origin page with the system requirements, and judging by the new information, most modern and several older gaming PCs will easily meet the minimum requirements: OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10
Mass Effect might take place in a future where computers are powerful enough to run sentient artificial intelligence programs, but you will not need one of those computers to play Mass Effect: Andromeda. EA has just updated the game’s Origin page with the system requirements, and judging by the new information, most modern and several older gaming PCs will easily meet the minimum requirements:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon 8750 2GB
- Hard Drive: At least 55 GB of free space
- DirectX: DirectX 11
The recommended settings, on the other hand, are much more hefty, but not enough to break the bank:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10
- Processor: Inteld Core i7-4790 or AMD FX-8350
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB, AMD RX 480 4GB
- Hard Drive: At least 55 GB of free space
- DirectX: DirectX 11
Mass Effect: Andromeda’s system requirements are almost identical to the requirements of other Frostbite 3 games, such as Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefield 1. A computer that can run Battlefield 1 will more than likely be able to run Mass Effect: Andromeda at roughly the same settings and framerates, assuming the game is properly optimized. Furthermore, with the rate technology is improving, gamers can easily buy a cheap $1,000-or-less computer (laptop or desktop) that surpasses the recommended settings within one or two years.
