Sci-fi, fantasy MMO Skyforge gets a PS4 release window
PC gamers are well used to the MMO genre. Players who favor their console might not have as much choice when it comes to the massively-multiplayer type of game, but now PlayStation 4 users can look forward to the action based Skyforge launching this spring.Though the game has been in Open Beta on PC since 2015, the jump to console comes as a surprise. Announced via the PlayStation Blog, Skyforge is described by developers Allods Team as a game where "you will walk the path from an immortal warrior to a mighty God, gaining followers as you fight to protect your world." In the free-to-play MMO you are given the power of immortality, as one of The Chosen, in your fight against alien invaders.

Though the game has been in Open Beta on PC since 2015, the jump to console comes as a surprise. Announced via the PlayStation Blog, Skyforge is described by developers Allods Team as a game where “you will walk the path from an immortal warrior to a mighty God, gaining followers as you fight to protect your world.” In the free-to-play MMO you are given the power of immortality, as one of The Chosen, in your fight against alien invaders.
Players will be able to choose from 14 different classes of warrior, ranging from brutal Berserker to intelligent Alchemist. You will be able to switch seamlessly between classes as you require, taking on campaign missions, PvP battles or Raids with your friends. The developers boast that Skyforge is a “mix of sci-fi and fantasy, action and role play elements that will keep you hooked for hours.”
You are also invited to receive a free gift for registering using your PSN account. PlayStation Plus members get their hands on the exclusive Immortal Plus Pack. This holds all the rewards of the standard pack, plus bonus items including the Wings of Vows, which are heralded as being a gift for the very first immortals. All other PSN members gain access to the standard Immortal Pack which contains a Cyber Costume, Halo, and Glowing Eyes. You can register for your exclusive rewards here, and find your gift waiting for you when Skyforge launches in the spring.
Following in the footsteps of previous titles, like Elder Scrolls Online, DC Universe Online, and Neverwinter, Skyforge is only the latest MMO to try its chances on console. But finding a ready and variety-deprived MMO audience on consoles might be just the right move. While Skyforge is free-to-play, it promises to be full of action and excitement, as well as containing plenty of content to keep players entertained for hours upon end.
