Typoman is a puzzle platformer that originally released for the Wii U in 2015. The next year, the game made the jump over to Steam as Typoman: Revised. And now the revised version will soon release on the Xbox One, followed by a PlayStation 4 version in the near future.
Typoman stars the titular Typoman, a character who is an anthropomorphized word, specifically “HERO.” Players can change the game world in any number of ingenious and creative ways by rearranging or altering various words. For example, players can add the letter “D” to a “RAIN” cloud and “DRAIN” a nearby lake, rearrange the word “NOPE” to “OPEN” a closed gate, and remove the letter “E” from the word “HEAT” to gain a fancy “HAT.”
The game has won numerous awards thanks to its unique visual style and clever puzzles. These include Best Casual Game at San Francisco’s Game Connection 2015, Best Art Style at Los Angeles’ Gaming Trend’s Best of E3 2015, and Best of Quo Vadis at Berlin’s Best of Quo Vadis 2015 Show.
Typoman is currently available on the Nintendo eShop and Steam. Gamers can also pre-order the game on the Microsoft Store for the Xbox One. While the Xbox One version will release February 17th, Brainseed Factory has given no word on the PlayStation 4 version’s release date.
