Sharpen thy shovels brave adventurers, as thy quest for Specter Knight has almost come to an end. To celebrate, Yacht Club Games has graced fans with a fantastic sale on Shovel Knight.
Next week, Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment will release alongside (and on) the Nintendo Switch. In Specter of Torment, players will control Specter Knight as he slices and dices his way through familiar levels. As with the Plague of Shadows DLC (and King Knight’s eventual campaign DLC), Specter of Torment is free for everyone who currently owns Shovel Knight.
Specter Knight is not the only change coming March 3rd. All current editions of the game will change to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, and gamers can purchase three (and later four) new versions of Shovel Knight. These versions include the base campaign “Shovel of Hope,” the Plague of Shadows campaign, the Specter of Torment campaign, and eventually King Knight’s campaign. Gamers can also purchase the Treasure Trove edition, which will include all available and upcoming DLC. Yes, even the gender-swapping “Body Swap” mode.
Since players can purchase each campaign separately or together in the Treasure Trove edition, Yacht Club Games is changing the price of the game. Starting March 3rd, each individual campaign will cost $10, and Treasure Trove will cost $25. Until March 2nd, gamers can buy the base game for 33% off, but the discount only applies to 3DS, Wii U, PS4, PS3, Vita, and PC versions (sorry Switch and Xbox One owners). All copies bought during the sale will be grandfathered into the Treasure Trove edition.
Gamespresso will continue to cover Yacht Club Games and all future changes to Shovel Knight.
