Nintendo has not had the most success since the launch of the Wii U. There is definitely a shortage of titles that make gamers coming back for me. One thing is for certain, however. None of this is the fault of Super Mario Maker. This game has proven to be fun and addicting for months now. Players can continuously come back for more, having a nearly limitless number of levels at their disposal. Now this phenomenon is about to take another step outside.
Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, this winter you’ll be able to play Super Mario Maker on the go when it is released for the Nintendo 3DS. Levels that have been uploaded on the Wii U version will be brought over to the catalog on the 3DS. Not all will be available unfortunately, but most should be transferable to the handheld version. In addition to this, there will be over 100 new official levels from Nintendo.
When making your own levels, you can connect locally to a friend’s device and collaborate on the design together. Sad to say, you cannot upload these levels to the vast cloud of levels for Super Mario Maker. That privilege is still specifically for the Wii U version.
Super Mario Maker will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on December 2nd.
