Konami will be showing off Metal Gear Survive during their Tokyo Game Show livestream event, September 17 at 4 p.m. JST, roughly 3 a.m. EST. You’ll be able to watch the stream on Konami’s official YouTube channel.
“The company will world premiere the first ever gameplay demo which will include brand new information about the upcoming title,” Konami said in a press release.
The game is currently being developed by members from the original Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain production team. Metal Gear Survive takes place after the attack on Mother Base in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. During the attack, sections of the base and soldiers left behind were sucked up into a vortex that brought them to a mysterious wasteland. Players assume the role as these soldiers who must work together in order to survive against zombie-like creatures.
“Metal Gear Survive is a new co-op game that supports up to 4 players that is based on the world, and inspired by the action elements, featured in the acclaimed Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The beloved stealth elements from the Metal Gear franchise are still there, deepened by new survival elements that will be introduced in Metal Gear Survive,” Konami said.
The game will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC sometime in 2017. It is expected to cost around $30.
