The ESL Pro League, along with the help of the World eSports Association, has announced more details on the 2017 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pro League. This upcoming season of the Pro League is set to start on February 7th, 2017 and run until May. The season will then finish with a World’s Finals event that will take place in Dallas, Texas, making it the first ESL Pro League Finals to be held in the U.S. The next season will then start in November and run until December of the same year. ESL has scheduled these events to allow players to attend other CS: GO tournaments without having to decide which events to attend.
Since its creation in 2015, the competitive scene behind the game has prospered, supporting live events and tournaments which boast a large online viewership over the years. ESL has brought the game’s league back for the 2017 season. This season will feature more teams and expand to more regions from around the world. It will also have biggest prize pool the Counter-Strike has ever had, totaling up to $2 million. That’s a notable increase from last season’s pot of $1.5 million.
The company has announced that additional information regarding tickets to these events will be given out in the upcoming weeks.
