Less than a week has passed since Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite was announced, and we’re already being shown new characters.
Last week at the PlayStation Experience 2016, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite was announced. It showed off fan-favorite Capcom characters Mega Man (who was absent from MVC3) and Ryu, Marvel headliner Iron Man, and another Marvel hero (obviously given her name), Captain Marvel (new to the series, and getting a push from Marvel recently). It also implied that the Infinite title comes from the use of Infinity Stones from the Marvel universe.
Now, we already have a new trailer. It first shows off the hectic, character-swapping comboing of the MVC series and some combo strings the already shown four characters can pull off. Then, it announces another contender from each universe: Captain America of Marvel’s Avengers, and Morrigan Aensland of Capcom’s Darkstalkers franchise, both returning from MVC3. Alongside their flurry of combos we are shown the Power and Time Infinity Stone power-ups, which improve attacks and allow invincible, through-opponent dashes, respectively.
At this rate, we may have a pretty clear idea of a roster for this game pretty soon. Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is expected to release in 2017 for the PlayStation 4.
