The week ending the 25th February sees the sword-slashing For Honor from Ubisoft stay as the highest selling game in the UK for its second week since release. The game, which pits Knights, Vikings and Samurai against one an other in epic battles to the death, has held off the challenge of the newly launched Halo Wars 2 to retain top spot.
The chart compiled by GFK shows us that the new RTS set in the popular Halo universe is the only new entry into the top 20 this week, and comes in ahead of steady seller Grand Theft Auto V. Halo Wars 2, which comes as part of a special edition bundle for the Xbox One S didn’t shift enough units to remove For Honor from the top of the pile. The remainder of the top twenty sees little change, with small shifts in sales for the other games that make up the top of the charts.
The top 10 best-selling games for the week ending the 25th February are:
- For Honor
- Halo Wars 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
- FIFA 17
- Sniper Elite 4
- Battlefield 1
- Rocket League
- Call of Duty Infinite Warfare
- Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
- Forza Horizon 3
For Honor’s place as the best selling game is in spite of the poor performance reported by players trying to use the online functionality of the title. Ubisoft and their insistence on Peer-to-Peer servers have come under heavy criticism from players across the globe. This hasn’t been enough to deter people from purchasing the game however.
Check in to Gamepresso next week to see if For Honor can hold off the new competition. There will be plenty to challenge its position, as huge titles like Horizon Zero Dawn and the new Nintendo Switch console with its release games of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and 1-2 Switch arrive in stores.
