Gamers eagerly awaiting the start of the Mass Effect: Andromeda multiplayer tech test have received the bad news that the tech demo will no longer be available to the general gaming public.
According to the BioWare blog, the Mass Effect: Andromeda multiplayer tech test has been replaced by a more limited PAX East 2017 demo. The blog post had the following apology:
“While we will have live multiplayer at PAX East, there will no longer be a multiplayer tech test for players at home. Thank you to everyone who signed up. We look forward to seeing you in Andromeda”
Producer Fernand Melo posted on Twitter BioWare’s reasoning for cancelling the multiplayer tech test:
MEA MP has had the most ext user testing we've ever done. +GameChangers program. And retail console closed alpha earlier in new year. 2/4

According to Melo, BioWare took full advantage of EA’s Playtesting program. He goes on to state in another tweet that Mass Effect: Andromeda’s multiplayer is “very alive” to this day.
For those of you fortunate enough to visit PAX East 2017, twelve NVidia PCs will be available in room 2AB of the Boston Convention and Expo Center from March 10th through March 12th. Each day will feature a “different character kit,” so gamers are encouraged to visit the room more than once to try multiple classes.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled to launch March 21st for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
