The runaway hit Five Nights at Freddy’s has been going strong for almost a year. In that time we have seen 3 games, a myriad of fan art and videos, and hundreds of terrified Let’s Players dropping their drinks and filling their pants. The final chapter of the game has been slated for release on Halloween of this year, finally closing the doors to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Or is it?
Typhoon Cinema released a fan video of Five Nights at Freddy’s and it may make you drop your drink and fill your pants.

Fan videos get made all the time, but this one in particular is the first to show that a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie may actually work.
It was easy to be skeptical when Warner Bros. announced last month that they had purchased the rights to make a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. After all, it’s a series set in a single room whose value is tied to the player trying to juggle tasks and eventually get their liver scared out.
Tyhpoon’s video shows a fascinating side of Five Nights at Freddy’s. One of slow, heavy atmosphere and crinkled, angry robots. It would be interesting to see this done as a very small, focused movie. And if this level of care was given, it could really pay off for Warner Bros.
While a movie hasn’t been officially announced by Warner Bros. yet, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that they acquired the rights specifically for the purpose of making a movie. Producers Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, and David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith of KatzSmith Productions have been brought on board.
Scott Cawthon, the game’s creator will be sticking with the production crew. “We’re looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie,” said Grahame-Smith.
It’s surprising that franchise fatigue hasn’t slowed down Five Nights at Freddy’s. Its sudden, runaway success has always pointed to a classic pop-culture flash in the pan, to me, at least. Despite that, videos still get tens of thousands of hits, and according to a grade school teacher I know, Five Nights and Minecraft are all her kids talk about. The fuzzy monster seems to have staying power.
