The Danganronpa series has been adapted into many types of media, including an anime, manga, and novels. It has now been announced the manga based off of the series will be making its way west.
Publisher Dark Horse announced that it will be bringing the first four volumes of the Danganronpa manga over to the United States. The news was announced during a panel at Anime Central this past weekend. The manga was originally serialized in Shounen Ace in 2013, and ended a year later. Dark Horse will publish the first four volumes in March 2016.
The first four volumes of the Danganronpa manga follow the story of the first game, Trigger Happy Havoc. Rather than following the game’s protagonist, Makoto Naegi, the manga is told from the perspective of the victims and the perpetrators.
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair are both available on the PlayStation Vita. A spin-off title, Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls will be making its way west later this year. It has also been confirmed that a third title in the main series is in development.
