Bungie has today announced that the King’s Fall Raid, included with the Taken King expansion back in September, will be getting even tougher now with the addition of brand new challenge modes.
“Early in December, one of the King’s Fall bosses will offer their challenge every week” lead designer Gavin Irby explained. “You’ll see which boss when you select the Raid in the Director. It will display next to it a skull, just like one of our Nightfall modifiers. They work on both normal and hard mode, and offer rewards to match. Each boss’ challenge requires that you defeat them in a very specific manner. How exactly? We’re going to leave that up to you to discover.”
As you can see, details on the actual challenges themselves within these challenge modes remain scarce for now, but with less than a week to go will December, we should look to hear more soon from Bungie. This is uncharted territory from the developer, having never before added in challenge modes in Destiny’s previous Raid, the Vault of Glass. There’s also no word on whether the challenge mode would be coming to the previous Raid.
In related news, there’s also a December update for Destiny on the horizon, which looks to add weapon balances and tweaks, primarily aimed at the damage output of certain weapon types, including the pulse rifle and the hand cannon.
