Ubisoft has announced that The Division will get three new expansions in 2016. Free updates will be headed to all by the end of the year and seasons pass holders will get exclusive gear.
The season pass, which hasn’t been priced yet, will come bundled in both the Gold Edition and Collector’s Editions of the game. It will include an exclusive sawed-off shotgun and new outfits and weapons skins. The publisher also said that season pass holders will get “monthly perks in the form of exclusive content drops and events.”
There are three expansions planned for The Division over this next year. Titles and quick descriptions were provided for the first two, but Ubisoft only announced the title for the third.
The Division Expansions:
- Underground: In the first expansion, a squad of four players will be able to explore new territory in a post-epidemic New York City underworld.
- Survival: In the second expansion, players will have to try to survive in a hostile environment that will challenge even the most hardcore Division players.
- Last Stand: No details were given for the third expansion.
The free updates will center around game modes and will feature “cooperative challenges that reward your squad’s ability to successfully work together.” No other specifics were given about the free updates, but they will be available to all players, not just season pass holders.
Ubisoft revealed that the game area Brooklyn would not be part of the base game even though they showed off the area in previous videos, but it’s safe to say the area will probably pop up in that first expansion. The Division’s beta is live right now for Xbox One users and will go live tomorrow January 29th for those on PS4 and PC.
The Division launches March 8, 2016 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
