Within the video, the series director; Toshihiro Nagoshi showcased the amount of enemies on screen, as well as the insane quirks in the new combat. This time, the playable character will also have assistance from other characters or NPCs to support them.
The Yakuza series has had a cult following for its zany characters, interesting settings and generally fun gameplay. Due to that, it was a huge let down when Yakuza 5 wasn’t localized for years. Fortunately, Yakuza 5 did end up coming to the West merely months ago and it revitalized hope that the next installment will be coming over.
Yakuza 6 is slated for a release in the second half of the year in Japan. It is currently planned for the PlayStation 4 and has no localization plans. Over in Japan, if fans purchase Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the first game, they would also receive a demo of Yakuza 6 to play as well.
