Yes, you read that right. The former developers for Burnout, an equally explosive and ridiculous driving simulator, have turned a complete 180 in their demographics with “Dangerous Golf.” No longer are they catering to the grease monkeys of the car-gaming world. Apparently, the world of sports is where it’s at, and where better to add explosions and incendiaries than the golf course?
Dangerous Golf has all the insane and silly qualities of Burnout, but with putters and tee-offs instead of cars and checkered flags.
“We wanted to mix the attitude of Burnout with the destruction of Black whilst setting the golf ball on fire–a nod to NBA Jam,” says Three Fields Entertainment, a company established by Criterion founders. “This type of gameplay is part of our DNA, and something we think our fans will truly enjoy.”
Put and pull-shot your way through four different courses, and 100 holes. Accumulate dollar damage as your score as you try to execute the most outrageous and destructive shots in the entire history of golf. The more elaborate and damage inducing your shots are, the higher your reward. Smash through kitchens and gas stations, even a castle!
Dangerous Golf, while no release date has been set, will be available for the XBox One, PlayStation4, and PC.
