The concept behind Rocket League is something I never thought I would see until last year. Who knew a game with derby cars driving around and playing soccer with giant nets could be so much fun? In a little while, the chaos factor could potentially grow even more.
In an interview with Major Nelson, Psyonix VP Jeremy Dunham stated that they experimented with having more players than 4v4 on the field. They found there was too much pandemonium, even for Rocket League, but would consider revisiting the idea if they had larger stadiums. Luckily for us, there are a number of prototype maps in the game that could eventually become standards themselves. It might be a little bit of a stretch, but anything is possible.
Rocket League is available now on PC and PS4. The Xbox One version is also launching on February 17th.
