YouTube giant PewDiePie recently made a postmortem video regarding his previous walkthroughs and early stages of his career. (You can find the video at the bottom of this article.)

From cringe worthy moments of his accidental facecam upload to discussing why he told such inappropriate jokes, PewDiePie covered it all.

The video came into being by fans who are constantly saying that they ‘miss the old PewdiePie,’ that the early years were his golden days. Often times fans will tweet out saying that they spent all day watching old PewDiePie.

Although it’s fun for everyone to look through rose coloured glasses, it’s important to recognize how much Felix believes he has grown. At one point he goes back to his Happy Wheels Let’s Play, and after a lewd Gay joke discusses why he did that. “Exposing myself here. I dunno, I don’t really like that. I feel like that… I still make kinda stupid jokes that I shouldn’t make, but i feel back then I didn’t understand. I was so immature, and I just thought things were funny just because they were offensive. So I would say a lot of stupid shit. I’m not proud of it, I’m really not. But I’m also really glad I’ve grown past it.”

PewDiePie was recently criticized by April for making light of the Tobuscus rape scandal.

Later on in the video PewDiePie reflected on how he used to be more interactive with his audience, bringing up his rise to one of the most subscribed YouTubers out there. He says in the video that the adjustment has been difficult for him, as the interaction that he used to strive for just isn’t there anymore. “I was probably better at being more engaging with my audience, but to be fair my audience was a lot smaller back then. I feel like it’s been a struggle for me to adjust from being so small to so big; and still have a close relationship with the audience, because that’s what I love about YouTube. That’s why I always read the comments, and interact with you bros, because that’s something I love doing. If you bros didn’t exist, I wouldn’t be making videos.”

Perhaps the most touching moment in the video was when PewDiePie gave a brofist outro “for old times sake.” The YouTuber appeared emotional as he did so, thanking his fans for all the support they’ve given him over the years.

“Thank you for supporting me throughout the years. Do you actually brofist on the outro? Do you want to do that? Just for old times sake? alright, here we go. Brofist.”
