Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has already performed well critically (for the most part), but it’s also performing exceptionally well commercially.
Global sales for the latest game from developer Naughty Dog totaled 2.7 million copies digitally and at retail during its first week.
As a result, Uncharted 4 is now the fastest-selling PS4 first party title to-date.
“A huge congratulations goes out to Naughty Dog for an incredible feat,” said Asad Qizilbash, Senior Director of first party games at Sony. “The success of the game is a testament to the caliber of the team at Naughty Dog and their unwavering commitment to their fans. Most of all, we wanted to give a special thank you to all of you who joined us so far on this incredible adventure, and have embarked with us on Nathan Drake’s final, wild ride.”
In our review of Uncharted 4, we said “Despite its couple of minor flaws, Uncharted 4 is polished and a blast to play. With dozens of nods to Naughty Dog and Uncharted’s past, A Thief’s End feels like much more than just any other game. It’s the end of a series, a lovingly crafted message to fans, and an excellent send off for Nate, Elena, and Sully.”
