Final Fantasy XIV, the Square Enix MMORPG set in the land of Eorzea, is now almost 3 years old. Like all MMO’s, this title has gone through many changes and expansions since it first came on the scene. Now, the millions who take part in this wondrous world will get to have some new experiences, including the haunting Palace of the Dead.
Final Fantasy XIV just recently passed a huge milestone. There are now 6 million registered players for the online title. It should be noted that this number does not reflect all current subscribers and does not count those on free trial accounts. This milestone comes just in time for the new patch 3.35. To celebrate both, Final Fantasy XIV will be hosting a free login campaign. Those with inactive accounts will have 5 days, July 25th 12:00 am PT to August 30th 11:59 pm PT, to login and play the game once again.
As for the new patch, while there are many fixes and balancing changes, the main new content is the Deep Dungeon: Palace of the Dead. Here, teams of four will be able to crawl through randomly generated maps, fighting enemies and bosses to gain experience and a lot more gear.
Check out the official website for all the patch notes. Final Fantasy XIV could always use even more adventurers.
