Finally feeding the fans that are rapid to know more about the upcoming Quake Champions, Bethesda has released the first quick look at the shooter’s gameplay. It turns out its exactly as fast, and over-the-top as we all hoped.
Complete with rocket jumping and no-scope sniping, the trailer may be short, but it checks off the boxes that matter the most. “In true Quake fashion, you’ll have an arsenal of powerful and unique weapons, each of which will feel familiar to long-time Quake players. There’s no loadouts, and no limit to the amount of guns you can carry,” the description reads.
In the few quick clips, we also get to see some of the character specific abilities that will be making their way into the game through the titular champions. In a video released late last month, Studio Director Tim Willits ran through the first four champions and their abilities. Ranger can throw and teleport to a Dire Orb, Visor can use Piercing Sight to see through walls, Nyx can use Phase to dart around the arena, and Scalebearer can Bull Rush his enemies.
Revealing the gameplay footage at QuakeCon, Willits also took the stage to announce the game will be going into closed beta in 2017. Coming exclusively to PC, Quake Champions will run at 120hz with an unlocked frame rate.
