It’s been nearly a decade and a half, and Milla Jovovich may finally move on from the Resident Evil cinematic universe series. The debut trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter cropped up on YouTube several days ago and it’s as you could hope to expect from the series.
Since the first movie in 2002, the Resident Evil movies have been notorious for skewering away from the source material, only ever so slightly bridging the movie back to the game series through tangental references. Despite this, the cinematography has always been an enjoyable aspect of the film. In the final film, Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) unifies her allies together to take down Umbrella Corps for the final time.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the series will end with exactly what it has always been doing from the beginning. Being completely goofy and not taking itself too seriously in a serious environment. Something you can clearly see with the legendary “Paradise City” by Guns N’ Roses played in the background as Alice goes absolutely nuts and kills everything on sight.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be 6th and last movie in the franchise before director Paul W. S. Anderson puts the franchise to rest. It is slated for release on January 27th, 2017 globally.
