If you were pining for some Gears of War 4 news, here’s something for you. Provided to IGN, a new trailer showcasing ‘Impact’, a new multi-player map for Gears of War 4 has appeared for your viewing pleasure. Not only that, but you’ll also get to see some gameplay footage, and it looks spectacular.
As the name suggests, ‘Impact’ refers to the giant plane that bisects the entire map to create the symmetrical battlefield for combatants to fight in. There are clear sniper vantage points on both sides of the field with battlements all throughout the middle of the field with lots of cover spots. There are some open spaces where brave players can run in and pick up some powerful guns such as the Buzzkill.
Gears of War 4 multiplayer is being co-developed by Splash Damage and not the main group who are currently making Gears of War 4’s main game. It will run at 1080p and 60fps as seen in the gameplay footage above. In the multiplayer mode, players will be able to play as either the Outsiders, the COG Soldiers or the Swarm. Each faction will have their own specific characters and knives. The currently announced characters include Marcus and Anya’s son J.D. Fenix, Kait Diaz, Del Walker, and Kait’s uncle and mother, Reyna and Oscar.
